Chapter Five

Scream, was not, by any stretch of the imagination, your run of the mill disco. For a start the clientele were described by some as weird, but, they themselves said they liked the edge, the edge of music, sex, in fact, the edge of anything.

Sean, Julie and Beth approached the entrance, Mike, the so called doorman, let them in straightaway. They were known, and therefore, never queued or paid to get into what had recently become a very in place.

As Julie passed Mike he said, "Ace Julie, ace." Before she could say anything their ears were assaulted by the latest heavy rock song that was accusing the government of all the usual shit. Julie screamed at Beth, "What the fuck was Mike on about?" Beth just shrugged her shoulders. It was easier than shouting.

Paul, the so called DJ of Scream, lowered the volume for long enough to shout, "Love that body Julie." Again Julie found herself screaming at Beth the same question, but again Beth just shrugged her shoulders.

Sean then reappeared with three glasses of vodka. To tell the truth, neither of the girls had seen him go, but this was not unusual.

Sean had also found Roger, who was Beth's boyfriend. Roger went up to Beth and said, "Sean has told me all about this afternoon." Beth shouted back, "Sorry Roger, but I had no idea where you were. Anyway we can catch up later."

Roger looked at Julie saying, "Beth's a fucking artist, love those tits." With that he put both his hands on her tits and squeezed the nipples, saying, I gotta see these fuckers dance.

After half an hour of deafening music, even Beth and Julie had had enough. Beth pointed her thumb downwards and Julie nodded. They were on their way to the basement.
